Mommy and Daughter Bonding Amidst Pandemic

This page highlights moments of how me and my daughter bond inside the corners of our cozy home marking the days since the pandemic (covid) has started up until the present.

My husband has been away to work abroad leaving only me and my daughter dwelling in our little apartment somewhere in the heart of Makati City. My daughter “Elle” is only two years old and she’s not allowed to go outside in strict adherence to the covid protocol. Though there’s only the two of us at home, I always make sure to capture those precious mother daughter bonding moments and so before each day ends, I will always have a story to share with my husband whom we missed so much.

Let me take you back to those memorable days when me and Elle have bonded.

1. Elle suddenly fell asleep sitting on her chair while were having our dinner 😂😂😂. She failed to take her afternoon nap because of having too much fun playing with her new pink tent.

Elle: Thank you Daddy for my pink tent ♥️

2. There are some days when we’re just having fun collecting snapchat photos. Elle knows how to open snapchat app and she enjoys watching her self on different kinds of images to make some snaps.

3. Sending daily pictures of us to my husband is a must to keep the latter updated on our daily activities and for him to see how Elle grows and progresses day by day. One of the photo apps that we’re using allows us to capture an image by showing a hand gesture in a form of a “peace sign”, just like what Elle is doing below 😄

5. It was on December 2020 when Elle was able to go outside and had her travel since the start of the pandemic. We went to the outskirts to do an ocular visit on our family’s dream house. Elle was so happy to see the outside world after nine months being stuck at home.

6. Elle and I spent our Christmas (2020) in our home. Even if Daddy was far far away from us, we remain thankful and grateful for all the blessings that we received from God for in these times, not all of us are blessed enough to be able to have everything we want. We should always remember to count all our blessings.

7. Elle and I drove to Caloocan to visit my cousins and celebrated New Year’s Eve with them. Elle who was not used to mingle with other people being stuck at home for a number of months was always jumpy everytime people approached and called her name. Though I got so tired of her clinginess it was still a breath of fresh air and worth it to celebrate New Year in other place.

8. Eating Jollibee cheese burger, french fries and sundae is one of our favorite things to do. In the Philippines, almost all of the kids when hungry will freak out if mom and dad will not buy Jollibee meals every time they pass by the Jollibee store and see the Jollibee statue waving at them 🤣

9. Chocolate overload! Daddy sent us a lot of chocolates that we can munch on. Yum yum yum!

10. Eating icecream is one of our food trips in a super hot summer. It’s a way to cool down and beat the heat. Due to high temperature and the surrounding bodies of water, the Philippines has a high relative humidity. Whew! Hottah hottah! 🌞☀️
